Mechanical Draughtsman - Johannesburg
Job Title: Mechanical Draftsman - AutoCAD 2D/3D Modeling and Detailing
Location: Kempton Park
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary CTC R 24 000.00
Responsibilities:
1. Drafting and Design:
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical components and systems using AutoCAD.
- Develop accurate and comprehensive technical drawings, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
2. 3D Modelling:
- Proficiently use AutoCAD for 3D modelling to represent complex mechanical structures and assemblies.
- Collaborate with engineers to transform conceptual designs into detailed 3D models.
3. Detailing and Annotation:
- Provide detailed annotations, dimensions, and specifications on both 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Ensure drawings are clear, accurate, and comply with industry standards.
4. Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineers and other team members to understand design requirements and incorporate feedback.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to design optimization.
5. Revision Management:
- Maintain and update drawings to reflect design changes and revisions.
- Keep accurate records of version control for all drawings and models.
6. Quality Control:
- Conduct thorough reviews of own work to identify and rectify errors or discrepancies.
- Assist in quality assurance processes to ensure high-quality design outputs.
7. Documentation:
- Generate and maintain documentation related to mechanical drawings, including design specifications and material lists.
- Prepare clear and concise documentation for internal and external communication.
- Prepare bill of materials and orders for purchasing of components to fabricate finished product.
Qualifications:
- Qualification in Mechanical Drafting, CAD Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Draftsman with expertise in both 2D and 3D AutoCAD.
- Proficient in creating detailed technical drawings and 3D models for mechanical components.
Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D modeling.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with other CAD software.
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in drafting.
