Mechanical Engineer - Cape Town City Centre
Job requirements:
Lead the Order Processing team, ensuring adherence to processing metrics and identifying opportunities for improvement
Verify technical aspects of incoming orders and review change orders for accuracy
Coordinate and engineer large or complex orders, ensuring technical correctness and timely delivery
Act as the primary point of contact for international orders requiring special coordination
Provide technical assistance to field sales and facilitate communication between various stakeholders
Analyze data to propose product improvements and solutions, maintaining a continuous improvement mindset
Assist in customer visits, plant tours, and company presentations to enhance customer satisfaction and understanding
Provide direction, guidance, support, training, and feedback to the Order Processing team to achieve collective and individual objectives
Develop special information for internal use (procedures, special unit execution) and information for representatives (RLD / ESB)
Skills & Experience:
Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency in MS Office applications
Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach
Proactive problem-solving abilities and a continuous improvement mindset
Effective leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coach a team
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy
Critical thinking skills and a quick learner mentality
Qualification:
BEng/BSc/BTech in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years experience in mechanical design, project management, order processing, design reviews, drawings, and Bill of Materials
Proficiency in CAD software {i.e. Inventor, AutoCAD, Vault) and MS Office applications
Experience with ERP systems preferred
