LOCATION: RUSTENBURG, NW The Mechanical Fitter is required to maintain, install and commission engineering components of the machinery and equipment to an agreed standard in the area of responsibility. Installation and Assembly: Assemble and install machinery, equipment, and structural components in accordance with technical specifications and drawings. Ensure that material, spares and equipment are available as required Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems. Diagnose and repair faults in machinery and equipment. Attend to Breakdowns and emergencies as required Inspections and Testing: Conduct regular inspections to ensure all mechanical components are functioning correctly and safely. Perform testing and quality checks. Conducts and participate in Risk assessments Troubleshooting: Identify mechanical issues and determine the best course of action to resolve them quickly and effectively. Collaboration: Work closely with other trades, including electricians, welders, and riggers, to ensure seamless project execution. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Participate in safety meetings and training sessions. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Ensure all documentation is upto-date and complies with project requirements. Report on own Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Governance Contribute to project audits with regards to policies, procedures, and systems. •Physical Requirement: -Certificate of fitness and ability to work in confined spaces and at heights. •SHE Requirement -Site Specific Induction •Additional Requirements: -Willingness to work extended hours, weekends and shut-downs on various AAP as necessary to meet project deadlines. -Valid driver's license Minimum of 35 years' experience as a mechanical fitter in the construction industry, preferably within smelter rebuilds or heavy industrial projects. Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic devices. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and specifications. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and structural components. Familiarity with industry safety standards and regulations. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and follow instructions from supervisors. Qualifications: Grade 12 or Technical Trade Specific N2 Section 28 qualification from accredited MQA training centres Market Related.
