To lead, support the Mechanical Team and pro-actively maintain plants equipment and machinery. Provide professional technical support to the Production Team Leaders & artisans to ensure reliability of equipment and performance of the line is optimised. If you have not heard from us within 14 days of submitting your application, please consider such to be unsuccessful. •Develop and monitor team goals against specific benchmarks so that team members agree on, understand and work towards the same outputs effectively. •Plan execution of job cards, adjust, inspect, repair line equipment to prevent future line breakdowns and maintain machine in maximum operating condition. •Inspect, evaluate and repair breakdown to optimise production and line efficiency and to minimise down time and costs. •Motivate, assist, support and coach team members so that departmental targets performance and future challenges are achieved effectively. •Manage and assess competence of team member/s against relevant unit standards so that assessment is conducted fair and reliably and to assure that learner is competent against the unit standard. •Overall management of direct reports including performance management, discipline and other HR related aspects. •Actively and continuously look for opportunities for improvement, and to sell, manage, implement, facilitate and actively support projects so that team goals are achieved within the business benchmarks. •Provide a specialist technical service so that special parts and items are sourced correctly, equipment efficiency is maximised, and down time and losses are minimised. •Minimum Matric/Grade 12. ·Qualified artisan (N6) ·Mechanical practitioner preferably Fitter and Turner with a Recognised Trade Test. ·Minimum of 8 years technical experience in the Paper Manufacturing Industry, Heavy Engineering Industry coupled with a Chemicals Processing environment. •Previous experience in managing teams essential. •Understanding of SHERQ Regulations and Good Housekeeping. •Ability to understand paper quality issues and problem solve or potential solutions. •Understanding of 5S methodology & Job Card System. •ISO and AIB standards to be understood.
