Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (24 months) - Cape Town City Centre

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Develop engineering briefs (scoping, technical specification, standards) for specific mechanical initiatives.
  • Engaging in projects from conceptualization to implementation and commissioning. This will involve the provision of mechanical engineering support for the projects, drawing up of project specific standards, engaging in various aspects of equipment / system design, preparation of budget estimates, involvement in procurement, and quality control during design, installation, acceptance testing and commissioning
  • Development and implementation of asset maintenance programmes throughout the group
  • Carrying out problem solving, failure root cause analyses, provision of solutions, preventative measures and technical audits
  • Design best fit engineering solutions.
  • Provide input into airport development plan in line with field of expertise.
  • Adhere to relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOP's, operational standards, policies and practices.
  • Ensure compliance to relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOP's, operational standards, policies and practices.
  • Ensure that maintenance contracts are aligned to ACSA requirement to comply with stakeholder and related legislative requirements to ensure continuous operations.
  • Manage overall governance and provide input into contract specifications.
  • Ensure effective and compliant contract management and that work is executed in accordance with contract (time frame, SLA, Scope, quality, budget, contractors).
  • Management of consultant, contractors and service providers through applicable conditions of contract.
  • Offer technical support to maintenance engineering on contract management.
  • Determine, as part of cross-functional team, evaluation criteria and participate in evaluation and award of bids / tenders received.
  • Compile business case for capital approval.
  • Forecast and review cash flow on monthly basis.
  • Determine project costs (part of feasibility study).
  • Compile, manage and account for relevant budgets according to business requirements and specifications.
  • Prepare payment certificates and approve invoices.
  • Assisting with the building of technical competence in the organisation. This will include provision of Mechanical Engineering leadership in the adoption of new technologies and best practices, dissemination of technical information and the direct mentoring of Engineers and Technicians in training as well as those within the maintenance space



JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree (4 years - 480 credits) Sc / B.Eng (Hons) / B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering)
