Purpose of the role Ensure full functionality of all bakery machines Duties and responsibilities Ensure machinery is utilized to full capacity and in working order Planned maintenance executed and improved operational efficiency at all machines assigned to the position Replacement and maintenance cost reduced i.r.o all machines assigned to position Ensure execution of preventative and emergency maintenance as per job cards Electrical and mechanical overhauls Rewiring of electrical machinery with view of effecting improvements Overhaul spare/old machinery to be available when breakdowns occur Maintain and set up new machines Assist Production on daily maintenance orders Assist QA with audit requirements Other reasonable duties as assigned Skills/Competencies Required Good interpersonal skills Attention to detail Sense of urgency Must be able to handle pressure Good problem solving skills Good decision making skills Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge Tertiary Millwright and/or Electrician Qualification (Degree or Diploma) At least 4 years plant experience within a FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) environment Knowledge of Safe working procedures Knowledge of Food Safety, Hygiene and HACCP standards Physical requirements / Working conditions Ability to work in and around a plant environment with elevated temperature/high humidity, high flour dust Ability to work in a workshop environment for extended periods of time (high noise) Ability to work weekends and public holidays Ability to operate in a multicultural environment Work closely with production, always be available on the production floor
