About the Global IM division: The purpose of Global Information Management (IM) is to enable the delivery of business processes, communication, collaboration and knowledge management through the deployment, support and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure. Job functions: IT Network Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the organization's computer networks. Ensuring the smooth operation, security, and reliability of an organization's computer networks. The successful candidate will work directly with infrastructue portfolio manager and various IT project managers to ensure all deliverables are met. The candidate must be willing to stay abrest with the latest netwoking technologies, trends, and best practices. Liaison with vendors. Conduct network audits, surveys. Travelling involved: This position will require local travelling to offices and sites every month (average of 750km per month). Petrol will get reimbursed. Must have a valid driver’s license and own car. Qualifications and experience required: Matric plus relevant IT degree/diploma/certification. CCNA certification compulsory. Mining industry work experience is preferred. Technical skills & experience required: Cisco Switch Configuration, Cisco IOS. Troubleshoot and resolve Cisco switch issues. Rajant access point configuration. Troubleshoot and Resolve Rajant access point issues. Understand Wi-fi Mesh Technologies (Wi-fi 2.4Ghz / 5Ghz, Wii Security). Networking Knowledge (Fibre, Copper, Wi-fi) Layer 2, Layer 2.5 Switching, VLAN's, Redundancy, Topologies. Stock and inventory control. Understand IP v4 and subnetting. Network Management Software (Solar Winds, BC/Commander) Knowledge of Excel, Word, PDF, Outlook. Knowledge of PowerShell Scripting. Reporting. Operating Systems (Win10, Win11, Win Server 2012). Knowledge of SSH, Telnet. UTP and fibre cabling knowledge. Microsoft Excel (Formulas). Microsoft Teams. Knowledge of Putty, VPN, Nmap, DNS, DHCP. Microsoft Power Apps: Power Automate, Power BI. IBWave Networking Software. Between 3 - 5 Years
