VACANCY: NEWLY ADMITTED ATTORNEY LOCATION: BRYANSTON Career-making opportunity available for a Newly Admitted Attorney, determined to make their mark in the corporate world, whilst building a solid career foundation in tax and the financial services sector. The ideal candidate for this opportunity must be initiative-taking and determined to learn and develop their expertise in tax and commercial law. The role entails client-facing and consulting facets, requiring an adaptable and resourceful candidate, to fully embrace the steep learning curve, in this fast-paced environment. No experience in tax law is required for this role, however a basic understanding of tax principles is advantageous. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Client-facing engagement / consultations; Drafting and review of legal documents, including advisory opinions; Specific negotiations with SARS, and drafting of debt relief applications; Tax Disputes with SARS, and drafting of Notices of Objection / Appeal; Research and summarization of tax and company law; Invoicing clients and tracking billables; and Miscellaneous assistance to Line Manager/Director. REQUIRED SKILLS: Exceptional legal opinion drafting capabilities; Ability to research and understand case law and technical legalities; Excellent organizational and time management skills; and Business Acumen (both verbal and written). PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: Efficient, meticulous and pro-active; Analytical thinker, with a problem-solving mindset; and Reliable, accountable, and possessing exceptional people skills. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) (Required); Master of Law, ideally specialising in Tax (Advantageous) and 2 years' experience in a corporate environment (Advantageous).
