Work Description The NIMDR-TB coordinator is responsible for on-site and hands on mentorship of TB focal nurses, assist with refresher courses and updating nurses on changes in the DR-TB program. Inclusive support in the Clinical Governance that includes assisting with conducting clinical assessments/folder reviews, TB program gaps analysis, assisting with remedial action plans and quality assurance activities at all levels of care. They will also contribute to monitoring and evaluation of patients that were initiated on DR-TB treatment both clinically and on EDR.web, monitor ADR’s being reported and recorded, monitor treatment outcomes of patients initiated by NIMDR-TB nurses. Technical Work Responsibilities Liaise with Internal and External Customers/Stakeholders Leadership and generic management competencies and experience Site visit scheduling, coordination, and oversight Generate innovative ideas for Mentees, Mentors and Facilities to improve DR-TB program management. Validating EDR.web data at a Sub-district and district level Record keeping Human capital management Coaching and mentoring Ensure the management of DR-TB patients efficiently according to DoH guidelines. Education Bachelor of Clinical Medical Practice (BCMP) degree (clinical associate) Professional Nurse with a minimal or equivalent qualification of NQF 7 in Primary health care with a dispensing license Experience The NIMDR-TB coordinator should have prior/current experience, not less than three years, in the treatment and management DR-TB care Be updated with the current DR-TB clinical practises as per the 2019 DR-TB clinical reference guidelines Minimum of 3 years’ experience in DR-TB programme management Experience and knowledge of DR-TB management: programmatic and drugs, adverse events, and the management thereof Good understanding of the M&E system Requirements Proficient personal computer skills Current registration with HPCSA or SANC SA Citizen or valid work permit to work in South Africa Advanced computer skills Be able to use initiative in interpreting data. Driver’s license Own car Minimal/Moderate/Excessive overnight travel (up to 30%) by land or air if required Willing to work overtime. Willing to travel. Advantageous Qualification in NIMDR Experience on working on TB data systems used in public health care sector eg., TIER.net, EDR.web Qualification in quality improvement Skills and competencies Innovative thinking, initiative, and leadership qualities Good writing and presentation skills Leadership and generic management competencies and experience Personal, interpersonal, and cognitive competencies These appointments are subject to the preferred candidates obtaining the necessary security clearance, reference checking and competency assessment.
