NPD / Applications Technologist / Client Liaison - TalentSphere Pty Ltd - Cape Town City Centre

Reference: PS010177-VL-1A well-known food processing/manufacturing company requires the above to develop technical solutions for customers regarding various food products. Work in a team of R&D technologists applying product development to create suitably packaged dry ingredient blends etc, of new and innovative products within the food manufacturing industry. Minimum requirements for the role: A degree in food science or food technology or a related qualification is essential for the role. Food processing or product development experience is preferred for this role. Previous experience having worked in an NPD environment is preferred. Previous experience working within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment is preferred. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to build good relationships with both internal and external staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Conducting applied product development to create suitably packaged dry ingredient blends, applications and prototypes of new and innovative products as required. Developing technical solutions to product issues and troubleshooting customers. Giving valuable input to the project team by providing technical insight, and recommendations and conducting appropriate follow-ups with clients. Working on product improvements and new product development as discussed with customers and management. Organising and preparing project reports and technical proposals, giving formal and informal presentations. Maintaining current awareness of applicable new technology and industry trends and their impact on technical and business needs. Visiting, liaising and collaborating with customers to determine requirements and design tailored products for them. Remaining updated on regulatory requirements of South Africa and other international regulations where projects are being carried out. Attending factory trials when required to do so.
