Occupational Hygienist Essential Requirements: ? Grade 12 ? Degree/Diploma in Environmental Management ? Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control ? Leadership Development Programme (LDP) ? Professional membership with SAIOH as ROH ? 7-10 years’ experience in Opencast mining & foundries ? Minimum 2 years’ experience as 12.1 appointment – Mine Health & Safety Act ? Valid driver’s license ? Willing to travel and sleep out during weeks. Duties and Responsibilities ? Participate in developing, establishing, and enforcing relevant Codes of Practice, standards, procedures, Baseline Risk Assessments, Issue Based Risk Assessments ? Participate in Occupational Health (Hygiene and medical surveillance) in establishing and managing occupational health programmes ? Compile sampling and workload schedules according to legal requirements ? Ensure the monitoring and assessment of compliance to the occupational hygiene programme by complying to the schedules ? Responsible for the generation of cost saving ideas ? Provide Occupational Hygiene expertise and skills to our clients, advising on occupational hygiene solutions to enhance or ensure the effectiveness of the operation ? Ensure capacity and bench strength of functional talent pool by coordinating, directing and leading occupational hygiene talent in area of responsibility. ?
