O&M Engineer - Johannesburg

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide assistance to the O&M team with troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Where required, design solutions and prepare the associated quote for those work.

Act as Owners Engineer for Build Own Operate plants, these responsibilities include:

  • Daily monitoring of Meteo Control & Grafana and other PV Plant monitoring platforms.
  • Review offline meter list.
  • Review offline inverter list.
  • Review PR performance of previous day’s plant performance and prioritise investigation, accordingly, following O&M Process Flow Excel sheet.
  • Track plant performance against contractual obligation.
  • Investigation at string level to be completed once per month.
  • Raise ticket for any problems detected.
  • Attend Daily ticket discussion and review with all PM’s on discussion around the identified issues, raise new tickets and debrief on resolved issues previously discussed .
  • Follow up on open tickets.
  • Tickets to be raised on all platforms until such time as it is communicated that SYNERGY will be the only platform utilised.
  • Ensure that the ticket process is closed and client reporting and TFS stakeholder communication is carried out.
  • Client liaison IRO general communication as and when required IRO of maintenance schedules, events, follow-ups and follow throughs of quotations with the client and TFS stakeholders.
  • Alert Account manager / Client as to significant System events by next business day .
  • PVDB offline.
  • Inverter offline.
  • >10% of DC plant offline.
  • Communicate with Site Operational staff that cleaning/technical teams arrival (this pertains to monitoring all platforms where the cleaning / technical team discuss arrangements).
  • Prepare responses to client queries within the agreed 3 days.
  • Prepare specific portfolio performance feedback prior to 7th of each month o During building of new BOO, complete site quality and document inspections.

Liaison with the O&M manager for cleaning schedules:

  • Review performance post cleaning of plant.
  • If plant is underperforming – alert cleaning team to prioritize scheduling.
  • Daily and weekly liaison and coordination with the O&M manager to manage reworks and quoted repairs.

Document control:

  • Keeping the site-specific maintenance records up to date by logging the specific dates that plants were serviced.
  • Review of post construction handover documentation and ensuring that the electronic copies are captured into the relevant O&M folders on SharePoint.
  • Coordinate with TFS legal ensuring that the relevant SLA is completed for each project.
  • Coordinate with the TFS Project Manager, Engineer and Construction Commissioner in respect of the requirements of Project Review (PR) 5 & 6 o Ensuring that all deliverables are complete prior to project take-on o Monitor plant in accordance with the O&M contract.
  • Notify contracts for renewal 3 months prior to contractual end.
  • Generate annual performance reports for Clients if required.
  • Facilitate discussions with clients with regards to expiring warrantees on plant equipment.
  • Manage bi-annual inspection.
