About Conways Stockist: Conways is a leading supplier in Southern Africa of architectural Aluminium systems and related hardware with a strategic network of branches, nationwide. We sell to aluminium and glass fabricators who fabricate and install windows, doors, shop fronts, curtain walls, showers, etc. We further sell bespoke extrusion profiles to customers from various industries as well as standard aluminium profiles like angles, flats, tubes, bars, and channels for various applications. The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and managing all operational aspects, such as stock replenishment and control, customer service, related administration, and cost & account management. The role requires a dynamic manager with strong interpersonal skills and a customer-centric approach. The Operations Manager will manage a team, ensuring high performance, moral, exceptional customer service and efficient neat operations. This position offers opportunities for professional development, giving strategic input and making a significant impact within our growing organization Preferred requirements: 5 Years operational or related management experience. Relevant tertiary qualification in operations or related management (Logistical, Distribution, Warehousing, Demand Planning, etc.). A good understanding of Aluminium systems and related products. Understanding of the factors that affect sustainable profitability in the warehousing and distribution environment. Identify and manage operational, stock, and related business risks and ensuring risk mitigation by establishing and ensuring adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the branch. Collaborate with the management team to oversee day-to-day operations, manage underperformance, fostering high morale, and delivering exceptional customer service. Optimize warehouse operations, including storage, receiving, dispatch, and distribution activities, to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Manage Proof of Delivery (POD)/invoice control and related admin ensuring accuracy and accountability. Oversee customer payments (Cash Sales), support debtors' control, and implement and maintain credit control procedures. Handle credit notes, special product orders, stock adjustments, and some stock replenishment activities. Advance integration between sales and operations teams to maximize sales opportunities and streamline processes. Implement stock control and stock take procedures to eliminate stock losses and ensure accurate inventory management. Participate in and oversee stock take and stock control processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the ERP system. Identify and address process inefficiencies and asset control issues to minimize expenses, reworks, and time wastage. Assist management with budgeting, financial reporting, and other administrative tasks as required. Manage petty cash & payment requisitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Maintain staff records and time sheets for the HR department, ensuring compliance with regulations. Maintain buildings and workplace cleanliness and organization, including filing and general administration duties. Manage all assets, including fleet vehicles, ensuring efficiency and adherence to OH&S regulations and guidelines. Ensure adherence to housekeeping, security, and safety guidelines across all departments. Responsible for opening and closing procedures in collaboration with other key holders. Work afterhours as an when required on a flexitime basis. Drive the improvement program (20 Keys), to enhance efficiencies, effectiveness, organisation, and visible reputation. Assist in preparations for internal audits and actively participate in Stockist Management meeting.
