PURPOSE The main purpose of this position is to operationally manage Organisation's Edu-care Centre (3months to 5 year old) throughout the year in such a manner that parents, with children enrolled in this program, can concentrate their own efforts on their respective Organisation's activities in the knowledge that their children are being taught and cared for in a professional setting that adheres strictly to health and safety protocols of the Organisation's. KEY AREAS Operations management and administration - Manage overall operations and is responsible for the effective and successful management of labour, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for the Operations Department. Resource management: staff - Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, selection and hiring; training new and existing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; authoring and discussing with employee's performance appraisals; addressing employee performance and corrective action plans; employee motivation and rewards. Resource management: budget, finance, purchase order and procurement- Organizing the budget of the company in collaboration with the line manager Staff Management, Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting- Ensure safe and efficient operations. Serve as a company representative on regulatory issues. Enhance the operational procedure, systems, and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting and looks for opportunities to expand systems. Maintenance of Building; Health' Safety and Hygiene MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE NQF 5, higher certificate relating to the field of business management and administrative, operations management or a related field. Advantageous: A background and understanding of ECD. 5 years operations management experience SKILLS Reporting, managerial skills, budgeting, management maintenance tasks, organizational skills, communication skills and administrative skills. Conflict management skills, foresight planning, managing health and safety at educare, computer literate, work independently, multitask, high level honesty and integrity. KNOWLEDGE Operations management and administration, academic administration, resource management-staff, resource management-budget, finance, and procurement.
