ABOUT MAMATWAN The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country's Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our open-cut Mamatwan mine which started operating more than half a century ago. WHAT SOUTH32 OFFER: Eligible employees will receive an employer contribution towards the company-elected retirement fund. South32 will support assistance for part-time studies aligned to role requirements and business needs at accredited institutions to eligible employees. ABOUT THE ROLE: This role is a permanent full-time position. As an operator track dozer, you will be responsible to doze overburden or manganese from the applicable dumping area either a waste dump or In pit stockpile. Dumping could include road, ramp, safety and catchment construction. Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to: Participate in investigations into workplace incidents; Report any unsafe behavior, conditions and incidents to the responsible person; Conduct pre-use inspections, routine inspections and report defects; Operate mobile equipment based on operational requirements; Keep mobile equipment clean and in a good condition all the time; Will be required to operate the different machines based on operational requirements. ABOUT YOU: You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: Must have a minimum of 1-year minimum experience in operating mobile equipment in a mining environment; Mining production experience in surface mining operations ; Equipment license on either CAT dozer D8, D10. Qualifications for this role are: Grade 12 with mathematics; Valid drivers license.
