United Exports is a completely integrated international fruit breeder, producer, and exporter with a particular focus on new blueberry varieties. Our leading blueberry brand, OZblu, is helping grow the category and set new standards across the globe. We are looking for a Packaging Materials Supervisor. The ideal candidate will be reporting to the Packhouse Manager and be willing to assist with any ad hoc production functions. Key Performance Outputs Manage supplier relationships and negotiate prices Manage supplier approvals and keep compliance documentation up to date Prepare and manage department against budget Plan packaging supply, place orders and ensure sufficient weekly and daily packaging material is avalaible as per production requirements Receive all packaging material, ch eck receipt against orders and ensure documentation is in order. Ensure that a standard process, as per BRC requirements, is in place and followed by every team member Manage all packaging movement accurately real-time on ERP system Check invoice price against order price and follow up any discrepancies Monitor and report any incidents of waste and stock variances Manage packaging orders and dispatches from growers and ensure that documentation accompanies any movement, ERP system transactions are done real-time and documentation is uploaded Ensure packaging inventory control procedures comply with company policy and food safety standards Implement and maintain BRC system for packaging inventory department Maintain superior housekeeping and appearance throughout Set up and maintaining all production Bills of Material Do stock counts as per scheduled cycle requirements, investigate and report variances. Ad hoc counts will be announced Supervise a small team handling diverse functions General maintenance of data integrity in the ERP system to ensure physical inventory counts always match that which is on the system Engage with IT team to set up reports which aid in packaging material management and reconciliation Export lug and pallet management and reconciliation on any 3 rd party site Requirements Education/ Qualification Senior certificate / grade 12 / matric. Suitable tertiary qualification. Minimum 2 years experience in Quality Control and Quality Assurance Functional/ Technical Computer literacy: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Technical knowledge of the fruit industry Product knowledge – soft fruit category Basic Food Safety Awareness – HACCP, IFS 22000, BRC
