Exciting opportunity for a Payroll Officer to join a shipping & freight logistics company, to be based in Durban, South Africa. ABOUT OUR CLIENT Our client is a JSE listed shipping & freight logistics company with a global footprint allowing for first class cross border logistics, connecting Africa's commodities with the world. JOB SUMMARY The successful candidate will be based in Durban, South Africa and report directly to the HR Business Partner. The Payroll Officer will be responsible for payroll and benefit administration, ensuring compliance with the labour acts and managing audit enquiries. THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT In order to be shortlisted for this role, you have the following skills and experience, but not limited to:- Diploma in Human Resources or Payroll or equivalent Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in payroll or bookkeeping Experience in HR Torque or payroll systems is a must Computer Literacy Code B (Code 8) or EB driver’s license MS Office – Specifically Outlook and Excel JOB DESCRIPTION The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:- Send all payroll related changes to HR Torque (this is the company we outsource to do our payroll). Ensure the payroll Masterfile is kept up to date. Preparation of promotions and increase letters. Confirmation of employment Handle employees exit processes. (death, resignations, retirement, dismissals, ill-health) Balance all payroll ledger accounts, including the posting of all payroll related journals Prepare payroll reports End of month payroll processing Please be advised that only shortlisted candidates that have the specific skills and experiences required to fulfill the responsibilities of the role will be contacted for a telephone interview by one of our consultants.
