Payroll Officer - Maitland

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to manage our payroll operations with precision and effeciency. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of payroll administration, maintaining payroll records and resolving payroll discripancies, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in processing salaries and wage payrolls. Maintenance of Employees Master Data System- Ensuring accuracy and completeness of employee information. Monthly Payroll Input Processing- Managing the process of compiling and processing employee payroll data. Posting Payroll Entries to General Ledger- Ensuring accurate accounting by posting payroll transactions to the general ledger. Monthly Reconciliation of Payroll Deductions and Earnings- Balancing payroll deductions and earnings with employee records. Authorization of Payroll Inputs/Changes- Ensuring all payroll changes are properly documented and authorized. Auditing and Testing of Payroll Inputs- Verifying the accuracy of payroll inputs through auditing and testing. HR Administration- Handling various HR administrative tasks including leave processing, managing staff information, and benefits administration (provident fund, etc.). Third-party Payment Processing- Timely and accurate payment processing for third-party obligations. Monthly Payroll Accounting Reconciliations- Reconciling payroll accounts on a monthly basis. Legislative Compliance- Keeping updated with changes in legislation affecting payroll and ensuring compliance. Monthly Payroll Returns- Preparation and submission of monthly payroll returns to relevant authorities (e.g., PAYE, UIF, etc). IRP5 Reconciliation and Distribution- Managing reconciliation and distribution of IRP5 forms. Adhoc Payroll Requests- Handling adhoc payroll requests from other departments. Staff Query Handling- Addressing daily queries from staff regarding payroll. Payroll Administration- Managing payroll administration processes, controls, and data managment. Document Filing- Ensuring proper filing of all payroll documents. Team collaboration within the HR Department. Experience- Minimum of 5 years experience. National Diploma in HR or Payroll related certificate. Payroll software- Buildsmart (advantageous). Computer Literacy- Proficiency in Excel and SharePoint. Comprehensive understanding of payroll processes and administration. High degree of attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication skills to interact with all stakeholders within the organization. Ability to take initiative and work proactively. Working in a structured and organized manner. Capable to work in a high-pressure environment. Striving towards achieving set goals. Ability to analyze data and situations effectively. Deadline driven. Ability to work with figures accurately.
