About the role: As a PBX Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, installing, configuring, integrating, and maintaining Private Branch Exchange (PBX) systems to ensure seamless communication within their organisation. Your role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from planning and designing customised PBX solutions to providing user support and maintaining system security. Role & Responsibilities: Designing PBX Systems: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand communication needs; Develop tailored PBX system designs, ensuring scalability and flexibility for future growth. Installation and Configuration: Install and configure PBX hardware components, including switches, routers, servers, and software; Conduct thorough testing to verify system functionality after installation. Integration: Integrate PBX systems with VoIP technologies, SIP trunks, and Unified Communications platforms; Implement protocols for seamless communication across different platforms. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance tasks, updates, and upgrades for optimal system performance; Diagnose and resolve technical issues, developing proactive monitoring strategies. Security Implementation: Implement robust security measures, including firewalls, encryption, and access controls; Stay updated with industry best practices to mitigate evolving security risks. User Support and Training: Provide comprehensive user support and training on PBX system features; Develop user guides and training materials for effective adoption of system functionalities. Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of PBX system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures; Update system documentation, including network diagrams and technical specifications. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent experience); Proven experience in designing, installing, and maintaining PBX systems; Strong knowledge of telephony protocols, VoIP technologies, SIP, and Unified Communications; Proficiency in network configuration, troubleshooting, and security protocol;. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams; Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or similar credentials are a plus.
