We are currently recruiting for an experienced Performance Engineer to join our team. Job Purpose: Accountable for Plant Performance oversight and review of the effectiveness of the Operating and Maintenance practices at the Power Plant including the detailed analysis, monitoring and reporting to CEO and Board of Redstone CSP. In additional, serve as Owner's Technical Representative on site and to all relevant stakeholders. In addition, the Plant Performance Engineer is responsible to identify, develop plans, processes and procedures for the plant performance and efficiency improvement. About Us: Redstone CSP Independent Power Project located 25 km East of Postmasburg. The newly developed project will generate power by using Concentrated Solar Power “CSP” tower technology in South Africa. The Redstone CSP project is a Greenfield Independent Power Project (IPP) developed as part of South Africa's renewable IPP program with a total power generating capacity of 100 MW net power output. The project will be equipped with the largest thermal storage size ever adopted in South Africa. Monitor and Report on Plant Performance Analyze the performance of the power plant and systems including Solar Field and thermal storage equipment, review all engineering associated with thermal Storage system performance including balance of plant equipment Prepare Power Station performance evaluation reports to cover expected vs. actual performance and options to improve availability and reliability including reporting on heat balance and power plant efficiency Review all failure events, analyze trends and make recommendations as needed Review and Report on Operating and Maintenance Effectiveness Review plant critical equipment and preventive/predictive maintenance strategies of the O&M contractor to evaluate equipment health and reliability. Recommend changes in technologies used or frequency of maintenance effort to reduce equipment failures Develop/Review corrective action plans and monitor implementation effectiveness. Assist O&M Contractor in effectively implementing changes that ensure the safe and environmentally compliant operation of plant Prepare and/or reviews reports and ensure they are properly submitted within the required timeframes. Provide input on budget development Assist in continually monitoring overall plant equipment performance to recommend best operating practices and initiate changes to improve plant performance to ensure that key energy consumption and production targets are met Provide On-site Technical Support, Oversight and Advice Provide specialized troubleshooting and technical advice as needed, remain current on developing technical issues Evaluate new industry predictive maintenance technologies and applicability to CSP Tower Power Plants and make recommendations to Plant Management Review and audit applied standards, practices and equipment specifications to ensure compliance to SA legislation Develop and initiate projects with Plant General Manager to assess feasibility, costs, and benefits of proposed equipment and process changes Review performance and operating assumptions of O&M Contractor regarding load forecast and dispatching requirements Serve as Owners Representative on site Develop and maintain a positive professional relationship with internal and external customers Embrace the ACWA Power safety culture. Put safety first every day and serve as an Ambassador for the Owner in this regard. Ensure the safe and environmentally compliant operation of plant processes Act as technical liaison to individuals within and outside the Project Company including Shareholders and Lenders, review all requirements of and technical submission to the Off-taker with respect the PPA and the O&M Agreement Identify long term plant performance improvement plans with a view towards improvement in shareholder value BSc Engineering (Preferably Mechanical/Electro-Mechanical) Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering process experience in similar or relevant field preferably on a CSP Plant and/or a conventional thermal power plant Must have relevant professional experiences in terms of relationships with a variety of stakeholders Knowledge and awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management system principles and relevant codes and legislation Market Related Apply Now
