Cullinan Diamond Mine is situated in the town of Cullinan 30km east from Pretoria. The mine is currently mining at a depth of 747 meters using mechanized trackless block-cave mining. Job Grade: C4 Reference Nr: CUL089 Job Description: The successful incumbent will be required to head up the planning, overseeing, supervision, and co-ordination of all day shift operating plant maintenance activities. Drawing off extensive practical experience and a sound understanding of plant installations and flow, the incumbent will ensure that plant operational maintenance and resource allocation is effectively managed to enhance plant availability. Tasks and Responsibilities:  Manage subordinates responsible for shift handovers (checking of log sheets, physical plant checks, checking of breakdown information and communication to relevant teams)  Plan activities in accordance with production and maintenance schedules and allocate resources as required  Liaise and synchronise plant maintenance schedules/activities with engineering sections  Co-ordinate and monitor plant maintenance operations to ensure adherence to maintenance schedules and standards  Communicate anticipated stream maintenance process information and changes to relevant stakeholders to minimize production delays  Continuously analyse plant equipment efficiencies and availabilities to recommend and/or implement planned and preventative maintenance interventions  Liaise with internal and external stakeholders of the production process to ensure availability/utilization optimization  Analyse and gather production / availability information to compile process reports according to departmental procedures  Perform administrative duties e.g. job card issues, record accuracy and availability, budget compliance and spares availability  Ensure adherence to Security and SHE policies and procedures  Work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice, and report any observations of this being done  Train, develop and effectively manage employee relations Minimum Requirements:  Grade 12 / Standard 10  Minimum of 5 years plant experience (Foreman or Learner Plant Foreman experience will be advantageous)  Valid Public Drivers’ License (Code08/EB)  PC Literate and working knowledge(MS Word ,MS Excel, Powerpoint) in Microsoft Office and Windows System  Operating knowledge of surface mining equipment, automated process control systems, with a good appreciation of C&I principles Other Skills / Competencies:  Ability to communicate effectively in English both in writing and verbally  Legal/Operational compliance knowledge; Process knowledge & operating skills  Strong maintenance and mobile equipment operating skills, including operation of earthmoving fleet  Strong technical problem solving and operating troubleshooting skills  People and change management skills with an ability to motivate a high performance culture within teams  Willing to work shifts, do overtime, standby and be available for call-outs should the need arise  Planning, budgeting, co-ordinating and prioritizing Cullinan Diamond Mine is an equal opportunity employer and reserves the right to appoint.
