Robert Walters South Africa What you'll do: As a Portfolio Monitoring and Valuations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing our client's monthly investment valuation process . You will be responsible for preparing schedules and analysis to support the Valuation Committee meetings, managing external auditors for each fund's annual audit, and ensuring data accuracy across all funds. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with various internal teams to produce monthly reports and support ongoing initiatives aimed at streamlining processes. This role requires an individual who can balance detail-oriented tasks with a 'big picture' focus , prioritising tasks effectively. Manage the monthly investment valuation process including communications with investment teams & traders, provision of valuation memos, review and challenge of proposed assumptions. Prepare schedules and analysis to support the Valuation Committee meetings. Manage the external auditors of each Fund to assist in their annual audit of the valuations. Take responsibility for the data accuracy of Performance Attribution across funds in conjunction with other internal teams. Work closely with the Fund Accounting and Investor Relations/Reporting teams to collate and produce monthly Factsheets/Transparency reports. Support ongoing initiatives to streamline / automate the valuation and monthly monitoring processes. What you bring: The ideal candidate for this Portfolio Monitoring and Valuations Specialist role brings a wealth of experience in professional services or alternative investment s. Your expertise in analysing data and presenting clear , concise summaries will be crucial in this role. University degree / post graduate qualification advantageous Charted Accountant / CFA or equivalent qualification Minimum 4-10 years' experience in Professional Services or Alternative Investments / Financial Services Expertise in analysing data and presenting clear, concise summaries Excellent written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English Advanced Excel user (e.g. PowerQuery, modelling or equivalent) / proficiency in M365 Suite Experience implementing/maintaining a major project or new business process advantageous Experience using Wall Street Office (WSO) and Bloomberg is advantageous What sets this company apart: Our esteemed client is a renowned global alternative investment manager with an extensive network of offices spanning the globe, they skilfully oversee a substantial portfolio of assets.
