As the Practice Manager for a Plastic Surgeon in Somerset West, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of the practice. This position requires strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of the healthcare industry. Key responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the practice, managing administrative and financial tasks, and providing leadership and support to the staff. The Practice Manager will collaborate with the Plastic Surgeon to enhance patient care, improve workflow processes, and maintain a high standard of service. Responsibilities: Manage the daily operations of the practice, including staff scheduling, patient flow, and resource allocation. Supervise and support the administrative staff to ensure efficient workflow and excellent customer service. Oversee financial management, including billing, invoicing, and insurance claims. Maintain and update patient records and electronic health information systems. Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, surgeries, and follow-up visits. Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper functioning. Implement and monitor compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other healthcare professionals. Assist in marketing and promotional activities to attract new patients. Collaborate with the Plastic Surgeon to develop and enhance practice policies and procedures. Manage and maintain the retail arm of the practice. Requirements Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a medical practice or healthcare setting. Proven leadership and management skills. Strong organisational and multitasking abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of medical software and electronic health records systems. Sound knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements. Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and excellence in patient care. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules. Willingness to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in a healthcare setting. You will be required to work on every second Saturday and some public holidays in the retail space of the practice. Effective diary management. Giving of clear and comprehensive information to patients. Bilingual and proficient in both English and Afrikaans. Ability to work well within an already established team.
