Reference: PTA000199-CDW-1 Our Client is looking for a Print Production Supervisor in Johannesburg to join their team. Roles and Responsibilities What does a PRINT PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR do? The ideal candidate should work well under pressure, be skilled in managing print materials, and have experience with various printing machines and equipment. Under general supervision, the position oversees the operation of various machines to produce print jobs according to specific instructions as outlined in the request sheet, from start to finish. Responsible to help maintain the efficient running of the print department by ensuring the print orders are executed according to established timeframes, consumable supplies are amply stocked and machines are properly maintained. Review, prioritize and submit print requests according to complexity and urgency. Ensure that the output is quality checked and accurately meet the instructions as submitted by customers. Willingness to work overtime and shifts is an essential prerequisite for the position as and when required. The ideal candidate is understanding of our client's challenges and excited to think of creative and innovative ways to enhance the image of Netflorist. It is extremely helpful if you have at least three years of experience in the print industry as this job is fast paced and requires extreme attention to detail. We are always innovating new processes in our print production team and would love it if you had the drive to self-motivate and improve processes where needed. Production Supervisor Duties Supervise all activities within the Print Production process, including workforce within the Department. Oversee daily prioritising of orders and timekeeping. Ensure that all Floor Planners / Team Leaders manage teams within their allocated areas in the production department Completes tasks independently in a quick turnaround environment. Follows and understands quality guidelines across the board to aid in quality assurance. Interprets a variety of instructions provided in written or verbal form. Effectively manages production scheduling of staff to meet the demands of the department targets. Ability to operate and maintain print and finishing equipment when and if required in the absence of the Machine operator, Technician or Manager. Maintains strong attention to detail when proofing all materials when and if required. Plan production activities and establish production priorities keeping with effective operations and cost factors. Evaluate equipment and material availability to establish production schedules and workflows. Collect and maintain operation data such as Production time/Productivity, Dispatch Targets, Error Reports etc. When and if required, step in to assist with responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Communicate company practices and policies to staff and enforce established workplace policies and procedures. Work additional, non-traditional hours (as needed) to complete job tasks and assignments. Report mechanical failure to the relevant departments to manage Netflorist website and sales efficiently. Assist in other departments to drive production when necessary or orders are slow. Abide by all company rules and regulations, including those set forth in the Employee Handbook. Perform any other tasks, duties, or functions directed by the Production or Branch Manager. Other duties as assigned. Oversee the all Sections in Personalisation and offer help/advice when needed. Troubleshoot in all areas when needed. Lease with couriers or external suppliers when needed. Oversee all staff, make sure they are at work in time, resolve any issues accordingly. Make sure that everything in the Department is 100% up to standards to drive Productivity.
