Job Description Main purpose of the job The job purpose is to co-ordinate the procurement activities within the PPECB in accordance with PFMA legislation and Treasury regulations. Also responsible for maintaining the supplier database, administering the electronic procurement system, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services. Monitor procurement activities and liaise with internal and external users on all procurement issues. High level job objectives To support the business by timely procuring goods and services from suppliers. To ensure that vendor information is uploaded and maintained on the ERP system. To ensure that procurement transactions comply with procurement policies & procedures. To ensure strategic relationship with suppliers are maintained for continuous supply of goods and services. To deliver services that meet the expectations of clients. To ensure value added initiatives enhance contribution to the bottom line in procurement spend. To ensure contracts are embedded on non-contracted spend to mitigate business risk. Job Requirements Qualifications Essential Desirable Diploma in Procurement / Commercial / Supply Chain x None x Experience Time Span Essential Desirable Experience working in a Procurement and administrative environment. Supply chain management and/or procurement experience in a decentralized, multi-structured organization Negotiate and agree contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided. Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers. Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams. 1 - 2 years x Procurement experience working in the public sector x Knowledge Essential Desirable Procurement policies and procedures Relevant knowledge of ERP system x Knowledge of the PFMA and all other relevant statues i.e., PPPFA, Supply Chain regulations x Technical Skills/ Functional Skills Essential Desirable Computer literacy Analytical thinking Time management Customer service Negotiation skills Interpretation of multiple rules, policies and legislation Business, written and virtual communication Interpersonal skills Problem solving which is technical in nature x None x Competency Profile: Behavioural Essential Desirable Planning and organizing Adhering to Principles and Values Learning and Researching Delivering Results and Meeting Customer Expectations Working with People Writing and Reporting Analysing Adapting and Responding to Change Following Instructions and Procedures x Deciding and Initiating Action Relating and Networking Presenting and Communicating Information Applying Expertise and Technology x Physical and other Essential Desirable Business Travel x Good health – Ability to sit for long hours x PPECB is an equal opportunity employer and promotes compliance with the provisions of the Employment Equity Act.
