Technical Expertise:

Comprehensive understanding of machinery and components used in the to maintain a factory

Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and changes in technology relevant to machinery maintenance.

Sourcing and Procurement:

Identify and source quality components required for machinery maintenance.

Evaluate potential suppliers based on technical capabilities, quality standards, and cost-effectiveness.

Negotiate favorable terms and agreements with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency without compromising on quality.

Supplier Relationship Management:

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.

Regularly assess supplier performance and address any issues promptly.

Collaborate with suppliers to optimize inventory levels and lead times.

Cost Management:

Work closely with internal stakeholders to establish and manage budgets for machinery maintenance.

Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on the quality and reliability of components.

Quality Assurance:

Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure all procured components meet or exceed required standards.

Implement and enforce quality control processes throughout the procurement lifecycle.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier performance.
Generate regular reports on procurement metrics, cost savings, and inventory levels.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Technical Buyer or in a similar technical procurement role, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
In-depth knowledge of machinery and components used in the steel manufacturing process.
Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards.
