A large retail group is looking for a dynamic and skilled individual to take upon the role as a Produce Manager at one of our stores in Randburg. Purpose: to effectively manage the Produce department. Complete management of stock and inventory control; maintain stock levels; monitor quality of stock in terms of suitability for sale. Estimate requirements and determines quantities to be purchased, negotiate with reps from supply companies. Determines pricing strategy and advises store manager, coordinates in-store promotional activities and displays to maximize sales and profits Ensure stock received is inspected for quality, checks if pricing is correct and coordinates stock takes and stock rotations Ensure the group's fresh produce team exercise hygiene control and maintain excellent housekeeping protocols in compliance with health departments. Purchasing, management and control of inventory; stock checks; exercise the first in first out principal and control wastage. Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with your team, department and suppliers. Come up with new ideas, to build and improve the produce department. Grade 12 (Matric) Strong communication skills; verbal and written Strong problem-solving skills A flare in the fruit and veg market Experience At least 1 year experience in the fruit and vegetable retail industry.
