Product Development Engineer - Johannesburg

RPO Recruitment is seeking a talented Product Development Engineer to join our team in Africa. As a Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving products for our clients across various industries. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions to the market. Responsibilities: Design and develop new products, ensuring they meet functional requirements, cost targets, and manufacturing feasibility Work with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineers to execute product development projects Conduct feasibility studies, market research, and analysis to identify new product opportunities Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including product specifications, design drawings, and test plans Perform testing and validation of prototypes and final products Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure smooth production and adherence to quality standards Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in product development Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 10 years mineral processing experience with knowledge of crushing, milling, mineral processing, etc and related technical product application. Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development Ability to do on site reverse engineering and create basic part drawings/designs. Proven skills and a well-developed track record in crusher part optimization and sales support. Strong working knowledge of the various types of crushers including gyratory, jaw, and cone crushers Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material properties Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment Experience with project management Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards Willingness to travel for client meetings and project assignments Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously Benefits Salary: Negotiable Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity) Paid Time Off (PTO) (if applicable) RPO is a Specialist Recruitment Agency that provides candidates and clients with unique recruitment solutions tailored to their needs.
