Minimum Qualification:
- 3 year degree in Production Management / Mechanical Engineering / Business Administration
Minimum Experience:
- 4 - 6 years experience in a wire making environment.
- 3 -5 years management experience
- In-depth knowledge of wire drawing and rope making.

Operations Management
- Control daily / monthly tonnage
- Manage production delays and changes to the production schedule
- Control production schedules
- Develop in conjuction with Training Department operating procedures for the different processes
- Manning of positions e.g. shift systems, backup, rotating, etc.
- Ensuring that consumable items are ordered in advance i.e. labels, cardboard centres, etc.
- Do experiments on new product / process / plant development requirements
- Implement new processes / products
- Control waste of responsible factory
- Control former stock levels
Quality Management
- Manage quality of products
Customer / Supplier Liaison
- Liaison with maintenance department
- Regular contact with internal / external suppliers
Cost Management
- Compile bi-annual budgets
- Monitor and control budget
Safety and Environmental Management
- Adherance of OSH Act policies and regulations according to legislation
- Adherance to environmental policies and regulations according to legislation
Reporting and administration
- Attend daily meetings with Commercial Department regarding production planning and scheduling
- Administer production records
- Check production bonus calculations
- Administer people records
People Management Processes
- Identify manpower and skill level requirements
- Provide on the job training where required
- Maintain positive industrial relations and teamwork climate
- Provide input, monitor and control adherence to policies and procedures
