RPO Recruitment is currently working with a leading packaging company based in Durban to fill the position of Production Manager (Punching). As the Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the punching department and ensuring the efficient and accurate production of packaging materials. In this role, you will manage a team of operators and technicians, monitor production processes, and implement strategies to optimize productivity and quality. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement production plans, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities: Manage the punching department and supervise a team of operators and technicians Monitor production processes and ensure adherence to quality control standards Optimize resource utilization to meet production targets Identify areas for process improvement and implement cost-saving measures Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement production plans Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and efficiency Requirements Knowledge and/or experience of Package Printing Processes; Material Production Process, Material Selection arid Package Design criteria will be an advantage Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time with little direction. Execute projects and initiatives in a structured and controlled manner. Extensive knowledge of the OHS Act and Safety Management Systems (incl. HIRA). Extensive knowledge of FSSC 22000 & ISO9001 5 – 8 Years managerial experience in packaging manufacturing.
