The Jonsson Workwear Operations Team is a dynamic team responsible for the procurement of raw materials, as well as the planning and forecasting of the company’s diverse and extensive product offerings. The Production Planner plays an integral role in ensuring the production lines are planned efficiently, with the correct products being fed through the respective production lines timeously. The key requirements of the role include: Work on the Planning Boards on Fast React. Plan cutting orders on the planning boards, ensuring that the correct products are planned on the respective production lines. Develop a good understanding of the products that are produced. Work closely with the factory managers to ensure production lines are planned efficiently and find necessary solutions to challenges that may arise. Be flexible in your approach, prioritise orders, and make required changes daily to ensure delivery dates are met. Operate within the larger team with constant communication with the Marking, Forecasting, and Procurement teams. Manage Outwork loads (Embroidery /Screen printing). Monitor factory and production line efficiencies. Accurately and proactively manage the throughput times in factories. Constantly communicate and streamline the work from the Fabric/Trim Stores to the Centralised Cutting Room and the factories within the required Throughput Time. Quarterly factory visits in Lesotho. Collaborate and work closely with the Planning Leader to ensure team objectives are met. The qualifications and experience we’re looking for: Suitable tertiary degree (eg. B.Com with Supply Chain or Logistics Management). 3 – 5 years of experience in planning. Clothing, textiles, and manufacturing sector experience will be advantageous. Highly computer literate in MS Office with advanced spreadsheet skills essential. Fast React and Syspro systems experience would be advantageous. Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle. Valid passport (or must be obtained if appointed). The type of personality that will excel: Works meticulously. Is organised, and systematic, works to a plan, and gets “stuck in” to get the job done on time. Is fluent in spoken and written English. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Understands the importance of deadlines and can work accurately and efficiently under pressure, with a sense of urgency. Gets to the root causes of problems when they occur and devises workable solutions. Takes great pride in having all work and admin up to date, completely accurate and under control. Has strengths in collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
