Project Manager - Cape Town City Centre


Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Project Engineering Manager to develop operational department year plans
Manage project setup during enquiry and award stages, appointing associated project teams
Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring effective management of allocated projects
Schedule and conduct Project Kick-off meetings to ensure alignment and clarity
Obtain client approval for scope of supply, delivery schedule, price, and commercial conditions
Document customer acceptance criteria for each project deliverable
Develop and manage project schedules outlining sequence of activities and tasks
Maintain project budgets based on contract and finalized scope of supply
Ensure compilation of required work packages for successful project execution
Define quality targets, standards, assurance, and control procedures, documenting in a Quality Plan
Establish and maintain clear communication plans between project team and clients, as well as interdepartmental disciplines and external specialists
Develop and manage project risks and mitigation plans as approved by the Project Engineering Manager
Compile a HS&E Plan for projects, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental procedures throughout project phases
Manage project execution, monitoring and controlling expenditure to ensure delivery within approved project budget
Communicate with suppliers regarding technical issues and expediting
Manage approval of all project change requests, considering financial and schedule implications
Obtain client acceptance of each project deliverable
Resolve project issues and alert Project Engineering Manager if constraints may not be met
Ensure compliance with configuration management system
Manage project proposal, design and engineering process to completion
Oversee project procurement, fabrication, assembly, and delivery phases
Manage installation and commissioning phases to ensure smooth takeover and handover

Skills & Experience:
Experience within Mining, Oil and Gas, Mineral Processing, or Heavy Engineering sectors preferred
5-7 years of technical and project management experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to perform effectively under pressure
Strong managerial leadership capabilities
Flexibility to accommodate demanding schedules and travel requirements
Proficiency in computer applications including Word, Excel, and MS Project
Possession of own transportation

Qualification:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering
Certification in Project Management
Registration or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer with ECSA
