Project Manager Woodmead Sandon - Mothership Solutions Ltd - South Africa

JOB PURPOSE The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of all assigned projects relating to the set-up, implementation or expansion across the full range of Company products and services sold to all customers. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring compliance to the defined ASEC project management methodology, reporting of project health status and driving the achievement of customer project success as measured through the Customer Experience process. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: In the context of Altron Security, a project is defined as a contracted piece of work that: Has a defined start and end date, Has a clear set of deliverables, Is non-repetitive (i.e. once-off set up of deliverables, not weekly / monthly checks, support or maintenance) Initiate projects Understand the customer's strategic objectives in undertaking the project, Interpret this in line with the agreed proposal (including all tasks and deliverables) to ensure that the objectives will be met, Ensure the correct documents have been received before commencing activities (PO, contract), Facilitate the internal project kick-off meeting, Ensure timely resource requests are raised for the correct technical resources to be allocated to the project by the relevant delivery team and resolve any scheduling / allocation concerns. Plan projects Facilitate the external project kick-off with the customer, including required kick-off materials, Draft realistic projects plans that incorporate all technical and non-technical tasks, Facilitate the on-boarding of resources onto the project, ensuring that everyone has what is required in order to start executing, Ensure the customers, vendors and Business Development Managers (BDM) know what is required of them, when it is required and what the consequences are of late delivery, Identify potential risks that could hamper the successful completion of the project, Ensure that all team members and stakeholders are aware of what the customer business objectives are, how the project will be run and what control measures will be put in place, Provide input into resource allocation meetings. Execute projects Resolve project-related issues and roadblocks for resources, Ensure resources are provided with clear expectations in terms of scope of work and timelines, Manage customers and vendors to deliver items on time, Protect the scope of the project by managing all scope, time and cost changes through the formal scope change management process, Manage the expectations of the customer in line with how the project is being delivered, Facilitate behaviour / usage change management with the customer through awareness sessions, training, documents monitoring and coaching, Manage infrastructure changes through the Change Control and Advisory Board process (own and customer), Facilitate the sign off-of Milestone Certificates for invoicing. Monitor and control project activities Provide weekly and monthly reports to customers and PMO manager and/or Executive: Operations indicating the progress of the project in terms of schedule, cost and scope, Provide weekly or monthly reports to customers showing value (onboarding, adoption, usage), Meet with the internal project team on a weekly basis to clarify progress and receive any escalations / issues, Identify where project changes may impact the customer's business goals and raise this with the BDM, Manage all compliance requirements, Identify resource performance, attitude or motivation issues and raise it with the relevant line manager. Close projects Where required, facilitate the smooth hand-over of the day-to-day working relationship to the Service Desk and Support team as well as the CSM where one is appointed, Create and present the required Project Closure report to internal teams and to the customer, Ensure Post Project Surveys are completed, Ensure lessons learned sessions are completed, Ensure the project is invoice in full. Additional responsibilities Create all required project documents as per the project methodology, Understand the technical product functionality, use cases and business value delivered of each product to successfully drive customer solutions, Ensure full understanding of customer's business workflow, organisation structures and objectives, Work as a team with the Business Development Managers, Practice Leads, Technical leads and delivery teams and Customer Success Managers for the good of the customer and the organisation. Compliance Defined project methodology is followed COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Internal: Customer success managers Service desk Technical delivery teams, managers and senior managers Business development team Finance External: Suppliers/partners Customers QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: Education Formal, recognised Project Management tertiary qualification. PMP certification preferred. A bachelor's degree in project management, business management, or a related area. Experience A minimum of 4 years' project management experience gained in an ICT environment comprising multiple, complex projects that are delivered in small, mid-tier and large companies, Exposure to managing international customers will be preferred. Experience in managing project scope and profitability.
