A long-established leader in the Complimentary and Alternative Medicines (CAMS) sector, has an opportunity for an experienced QA Pharmacist (batch release and general QA functions). Requirements: General QA batch release - a production background is an advantage but is not a requirement. It is not a manufacturing company, they use 3rd party manufacturers. Knowledge of Complimentary / CAMS / Natural products is an advantage. And to stand in as Deputy RP in case the RP is away for the day. Quality Assurance • Release of imported and locally manufactured products. • Review batch manufacturing, packaging, and laboratory documentation to ensure that production controls, production conditions and results of testing comply with the procedure and finished product specification. • Ensure that batch traceability is maintained for all products by recording the necessary information in the product register. • Conduct annual product quality reviews. • Record and report product quality review data. • Management of reference samples as well as retention samples. • Ensure that additional sampling, inspection, tests, and checks are carried out or initiated, as appropriate. • Assist in the decision-making of rejected goods, materials, and components. • Compile stability data and initiate stability programs for existing and new products. • Assist with the research and formulation of new products where required. Quality Control • Managing & maintaining the Quality Management System. • Compiling of monthly QMS reports. • Setting up and facilitating strategic, technical, QMS, and/or management review meetings. • Handling and actioning non-conformances. • Implementing CAPA's (Corrective Actions & Preventative Action). • Identify and implement improvement opportunities. • Identify, implement, and manage change controls for printed packaging material, standard operating procedures, and batch manufacturing documents. • Review, update, and maintain master documents, standard operating procedures, and release and batch manufacturing documents. BPharm degree required (Non-negotiable) 1 to 3 years of QA experience, preferably at a CAMS company. Deputy RP experience is an advantage, not a requirement. Salary is negotiable, and will be affected by specific years of relevant experience, as well as specific qualifications etc. A salary range of R60k to R65k, maybe R70k p/m for highly experienced candidates, plus an incentive bonus, is envisaged for this role.
