Matric with Mathematics and Physical Science. Minimum 2 years' experience in colour matching and QC essential . Location: Clayville, Gauteng Description: A leading paint manufacturer requires a Quality Control Lab Technician to join their team. The main responsibilities are to perform quality control tests of paint batches, in-plant tinting and keeping records. Duties will include but is not limited to: •Colour matching of the paint batches in production, in-plant tinting per the company STD colours •Using lab sample testing before implementing it in the factory batches •Manage receiving and storage of retained samples; investigate customer complaints regarding retained samples •Regularly check and test samples of product batches during specific production stages •Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibration and report promptly in the event of a breakdown to avoid unplanned downtime •Participate in the development and/or revision of Standard Operating Procedures for the quality control function •Keep records of all test carried out and write and present a report to show findings •Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner •Ensure that your designated area (lab & letdown area) is kept neat and tidy, all products must be clearly identified and kept in their place •Assist Platform Assistant to finish-off batches and directing requirements to the batch •Ensure that the Daily Checklist is complete in all aspects of a QC Lab Technician Key Requirements: Matric with Mathematics and Physical Science. At least 2 years' colour matching and quality control experience. Good arithmetic skills are required. Additional Requirements: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English (written and spoken) required. Working knowledge of measurement instruments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
