Quality Assurance Manager - Centurion

The Person:
  • Degree in Engineering or related field (4 year degree).
  • Quality Management / Quality Assurance Management.
  • Quality body: Certification by industry recognised professional organisations is preferred (Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Manager, advanced quality planning APQP, SPC, TQM).
  • ISO: ISO 9000: 2015 / ISO 9001: 2015 / ISO 3951 Certificate/s would be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance Management.
  • Min 3 years in a Quality Managerial role in the Manufacturing industry.
Knowledge Required:
  • Quality Assurance Management.
  • Quality strategy development and implementation.
  • Non-conformance management.
  • Governance, risk management and compliance (GRC), SHEQ Auditing.
  • Strategic human resources management, policies, systems, processes, practices and trends.
  • Policy conceptualisation, analysis and implementation.
  • General management.
  • Transformation and change management.
  • Coaching and mentoring.
  • Budgeting and Capex management.
The Job:
  • Maintain the QMS in accordance with ISO 9001:2015. Review and implement changes to ensure quality assurance programs remain effective.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a supplier management process.
  • Develop an internal audit plan as per ISO 9001:2015 requirements and oversee the implementation of the end to end internal audit process through managing the Audit team.
  • Manage external ISO audit process and interaction with certification bodies.
  • Manage non-conformance processing with good record keeping and tracking systems, including root cause and corrective actions.
  • Develop, implement and review customer, supplier and user surveys and feedback.
  • Oversee any raw material and product recall processes and ensure the integrity thereof.
  • Drive quality at source through educating business on integration of quality into business processes and the provision of suitable quality related training.
  • Ensure that all legal requirements are covered by the QMS.
  • Compile management information reports monthly and quarterly.Â
  • Lead periodic management review meetings with various process owners and Management team.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the company document management system.
  • Formulate and maintain policy and procedures for the quality program including quality assurance and quality systems in line with ISO standards.
  • Drive Cost of Quality metrics measures and attainment – both cost of conformance and cost of non-conformance.
  • Compile and manage departmental budget and Capex projects.
Technical Competency:
  • Provide expert advice: provide guidance and expert advice to Management and other Groups on Quality Management. Provide relevant and timely information for decisions. Â
  • Communication: Clearly convey and receive information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or Groups in a manner that engages the listener, helps them understand and retain the message, and invites response and feedback. Keep others informed as appropriate. Demonstrate good written, oral, and listening skills.
  • Cross-functional awareness: Understand the different contributions from other departments and work with colleagues from across the organisation to achieve better results. Work co-operatively with diverse teams, work groups and across the organisation to achieve the organisation's goals - this includes communicating effectively and collaboratively with others.
  • Quality Management: The ability to develop and implement a Quality Management System (QMS), institute risk management and implement a SHEQ auditing system in order to ensure the achievement of organisational objectives.
  • Quality Analysis: Ability to evaluate internal and supplier policies, processes, procedures and standards to determine their adequacy and effectiveness in meeting customer, regulatory/legal and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Analytical problem solving and analysis: Relate to or use analysis or logical reasoning. Analyse issues and break them down into their component parts. Make systematic and rational judgements based on relevant information. Problem are open ended and affect more than one area of the business. Solutions need to be determined through consultation with other areas of the business.
Key Skills and Attributes Required:
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and implementation thereof, including supplier management.
