Introduction A meat suppling company is looking for a Quality Assurance Supervisor to be responsible for ensuring that food products meet required standards set by customers and regulatory authorities. Description Job description/responsibilities: Role As the QA Supervisor/ Food Technologist, you are responsible for ensuring that food products meet required standards set customers and regulatory authorities. To work together with Top Management in maintaining and complying the implemented systems as well as making sure that products that are manufactured will not cause any harm to the consumer. The positions primary function is to manage the day-to-day quality control activities to facilitate optimization of product quality and customer satisfaction. Improving current quality systems from raw material intake to shipping. Responsibilities Managing and controlling online QC staff – including leave, absenteeism, rotation etc. Staff training and self-evaluations Updating all QC inspection sheets as needed and conduct morning plant inspections Signing and checking daily QC reports. Analyzing data and transform into weekly and monthly reports. Ensuring the availability of weekly consumables (e.g swabs). Liaising with suppliers where possible regarding quality issues. Establishing raw material specifications and Halaal certifications from all raw material suppliers. Micro swabbing and Micro submissions Micro results capturing and trending Invoice signing off and capturing Complaint investigation when needed and Complaints trending. Pre-requisite programs: implementation, evaluation and verification. Attending daily production meetings and report back on any quality issues. Product Evaluations Verification of HACCP inspections: foreign bodies, glass and hard plastic inspections, etc. Drive the food safety culture. Pest control officer Filing of weight control sheets, COAs and COCs (Receiving) Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience: Qualifications: Grade 12 (Matric). BTech in Food Technology or related field. Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role. Skills: HACCP, VACCP and TACCP training is advantageous. Attention to detail and accuracy is essential. Excellent communication and ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team. Must be computer literate. Able to work under pressure. Apply Now
