Quality Control Inspector (Fresh Produce) - South Africa
Our client within in the fresh produce industry is looking for a hands-on Quality Control Inspector. The Quality Control inspector must ensure that all fresh produce shipped to our domestic and foreign clients meet our rigorous quality standards Duties and responsibilities The successful applicant will take ownership of the following functions: Inspect all produce to ensure it meets established quality standards before shipment Transport produce samples to a laboratory for testing as needed Develop and maintain quality reports to track and document findings Collaborate with warehouse personnel to meet productivity, accuracy, and efficiency goals Operate equipment and materials accurately and safely in accordance with safety and operational guidelines Verify and maintain proper retention of documents Follow company policies and procedures as well as external regulations related to the quality of fresh produce Desired Experience and Qualification At least 5 years of experience in a Quality Control Inspector or similar role Knowledge of fresh produce handling, packing, and shipping Ability to use a variety of testing equipment and techniques Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word Ability to work well in a team environment Ability to maintain detailed and organized records High-level attention to detail. Must be able to stand long hours, in a variety of conditions that include cold environment.
