Quality Control Manager - Kempton Park

Overall Role Function: The Quality Manager is responsible to oversee product development, assembly and repair procedures to ensure that quality standards are adhered to and maintained. The Quality Manager should be detail orientated, reliable and uncompromising and have good communication skills both orally and written. The individual must understand the needs of the client and be able to coordinate employee efforts to obtain consistent results. The role requires extensive travel on a regular basis. Key Responsibilities: Gaining an understanding of both the client’s and companies requirements pertaining to quality standards of supply chain equipment. This includes but is not limited to steel (rollcages, dollies, hypercages), plastic (tote bins, crates, bulkbins) and wooden material (pallets, crates). Participating and engaging with client Quality Management Systems and Supplier Partner Programs and respond to customer complaints. Act as a point of contact for warranty issues. Report on agreed quality metrics and inspections on a per incident and monthly basis. Work proactively with the Design, Procurement and Operational teams to establish a Quality Aware culture. Manage and execute internal quality audit schedules and programs. Establishing, production & repair protocols to ensure quality standards per equipment type. Communicating and enforcing standards across the business manufacturing, procurement, assembly and repair facilities in accordance with approved product specifications. Lead a root cause and problem-solving methodology to ensure continuous improvement. Develop, recommend and measure controls to improve the manufacturing and repair process to ensure higher-quality goods. Devising, improving, and reviewing new specifications and procedures for products or processes, and training staff to use them. Setting the requirements for raw materials from suppliers and monitoring their compliance. Supervising inspectors, technicians, and other staff members and providing guidance. Ensuring legal obligations are followed and ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and with health and safety guidelines in conjunction with the Business Safety Officer. Inspecting the deliveries, comparing it to the agreed quality standards, and approving or rejecting the final products. Keeping accurate documentation and performing statistical analysis. Gaining feedback from the clients, attending meetings, submitting reports, and assisting external auditors and inspectors. Qualifications and Experience: Tertiary qualification in related discipline or equivalent. Requires three years of experience in an operational, manufacturing or repair quality assurance environment.
