A market leader and well-established company situated in Paarl, Western Cape in the imported packaging industry is looking to fill a Quality Controller position. Duties & Responsibilities include however not limited: Attend all quality control issues and travel to clients for Cape Town based branch and Paarl based plant. Investigating all customer complaints and writing reports to customers. Running trials on new products and testing all new packaging products. Sampling of all incoming goods and storing retention samples for every product and upkeep of retention samples storage. Ensuring that any outsourced tests are conducted, and results obtained. Visit clients to solve any quality-related complaints. Ordering consumables and staff PPE. Work on SAP to transfer stock for repacked / sorted stock. Update supplier's and service providers information for BRCGS audit. Assist quality assurance manager during BRCGS audit and collecting all food safety certificates from suppliers and ensuring that suppliers have all relevant documentation. Conducting internal audits for BRCGS certification purposes. Ensuring that housekeeping around the factory is of good standard. Booking trainings for staff with relevant service providers. Liaise with various service providers regarding any scheduled maintenance or training etc., Maintenance of quality checks of machinery. Health and safety team member. Grade 12, tertiary qualification; minimum diploma in packaging, food safety, quality or equivalent. Own transport with valid driver's licence to travel to clients and to the two branches in Paarl and Cape Town Experience in a similar role preferably in the wine industry. Excellent computer literacy including SAP, Excel. High integrity values and morals. Must have attention to detail with excellent communication skills. Able to work independently and excellent team player. Self-motivated and hands on person. Willing to travel nationally and internationally. R20,000 to R35,000 CTC (depending on experience)
