Job Summary: Quality Manager Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the quality manager is an on-site position to lead and coordinate the plant's Quality Management System and product testing. Ensuring the plant's ongoing compliance with all quality certifications. This person will be responsible for the supervision of Quality Technicians and Quality Associates. Essential Functions Oversees the testing in accordance with Avient Lab Performance Policy and that all product grading is accomplished in a timely and accurate manner. Represents the plant and Avient in all aspects of professional dealings with customers, the technology community, and the commercial group. Resolves and coordinates customer complaints and handles technical and quality questions from internal and external sources. Collaborates with Maintenance and Engineering to ensure the manufacturing-related processes are in control and that all product produced at the facility meets the requirements of the end-use customer via functions of the QC laboratory. Coordinate and manage internal and external auditing bodies, including regulatory agencies, vendors, and customers. Ensures that process and measurement conditions are recorded, monitored, and controlled and managed in accordance with agreed quality management systems for product consistency and according to the specified conditions. Support, manage and maintain plant certifications, to include UL, ISO9001, and GMP. This includes management of the site's internal audit program. Coordinates investigation and corrective action on all plant-related customer complaints. Assesses training needs and provides training to lab/production employees. Other duties as assigned. Oversees overall compliance of lab equipment. Ensuring proper calibration and verification. Process owner of the sites QMS system Education and Experience 2-5 years' Quality Control experience. 2- 5 years of experience in managing direct reports, leadership and problem-solving experience preferred 2-5 years' quality systems experience with auditing and root cause investigation preferred. 2-5 years' customer interaction preferred. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred. Additional Qualifications Ability to communicate effectively verbally Must have excellent written communication skills. Communication must be clear, concise and compete. Must have mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and apply these skills to weights, measures of volume, speed and distance. Must have ability to reason and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Experience with measuring and evaluating color with and/or understanding of how ingredients influence specific characteristics of the finished part.
