Job purpose: To assist the QS Manager with the design, implementation and maintenance of all Quality systems. Watloo, Pretoria. Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge: • Diploma or BTech in Food Technology or Degree in Food Science or equivalent qualification. Experience / Knowledge: • GMP-Good Manufacturing Practices • HACCP- Hazzard Analysis and Critical Control Point • SQMS- Supplier Quality Management Systems. • AIB and/or YUM Standards • FSSC 22000 • Food Defence Duties and responsibilities: 1. AIB, Yum, Food Defence, FSSC and SQMS standards implementation and managing of systems 2. SPC (WinSPC and Sightline) performance monitoring and problem solving. Compile reports for regional and global directors. 3. Document Control system (Reviewing of procedures, programs, policies, SOPs, work instructions and records) 4. Auditing and training on the above-mentioned document control system. 5. Systems implementation and update. 6. Verification and validation of CCPs. 7. Supplier Performance monitoring and Approval (provision with specs, COAs, data sheets, supplier audits, delivery conditions, Continuous Guarantees etc). 8. Distribution centre audits. 9. Compile training manuals and train associates on Quality and Food Safety. 10. Assist NPD during trial runs. 11. Conduct shelf life tests, nutritional analysis and chemical testing. 12. Environmental program monitoring and uploading on Aybit system as well as follow up on out of spec results and reporting to managers and regional directors. 13. Process orders on SAP system. 14. Raising non-conformances internally and externally and follow up on investigation proceedings and close them out. 15. Customer Complaints (Major - Report writing and investigation and Minor - Digistics website) 16. HACCP team leader backup - Part of HACCP implementation and monitoring. Attend and lead meetings in absence of QS Manager. 17. Compile KPI and Spec compliance reports to be sent to customers. 18. Conduct Internal Food Safety audits, Control, issue and update Documentation audits and conduct Yum internal audit twice annually and annual SQMS audits. 19. Conduct self-inspections with departmental teams and follow up on action plans. 20. Conduct Ninja audits with QCs once a month. 21. Involved with Regulatory authorities including Halal and Kosher. Have to stay updated with regulatory requirements. 22. Back-up for Quality Controllers when needed. 23. External audits preparations and C/Action plans . 24.
