Quantity Surveyor (Contract) Richardsbay, KZN Our client requires the services of a Quantity Surveyor . POSITION: Fixed Term Contract, 6-12 months (option to extend). COMMENCEMENT : As soon as possible. REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications: BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying or equivalent South African Council of the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) registration South African Council for the Projects and Construction Management Profession (SACPCMP) registration PMP (Project Management Professional) with PMI (Project Management Institute) or equivalent advantageous Experience: At least 5 years in Project Management & Quantity Surveying At least 5 years of experience in a senior or specialist role Experience working with SAP, Microsoft Projects, Primavera P6 or other Project Management software advantageous Supervisory experience is advantageous THE ROLE: Safety, Risk, Environment & Community: Zero harm, respect the environment and the community by ensuring compliance to SHEQ systems, standards, and legislative requirements for annual Shuts Relationship development: safely delivering the project outcomes, on time, in cost budget and with agreed quality requirements by working cross-functionally across all the project disciplines (i.e., Procurement, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument, Process). Manage project cost and risks (including Bill of Quantity / Pricing Schedules, cash flows, analysing and evaluating pricing, assessing variations, payment certificates and invoices, etc) and drive cost reduction Align cost forecasts and adjudicate tender quotations: Ensuring costs reflect scope & verifying contractor rates with industry-established norms; considering vendor inputs, site instructions, claim forecasts, tariff increases and volume increases Working with procurement to select the best contracting strategy for each job to minimize cost and maximize productivity (within the constraints of safety, environment, cost, duration, scope, quality, risks, and available resources) Drafting, analysing, and evaluating Bill of Quantity or Pricing Schedules for tenders. Verifying Invoices: Ensuring that we pay for actual work done when using cost-measurable contracts Participating in tender evaluations and ensuring that the best contractors are selected in conjunction with the Project team and in line with Procurement practice (ensure alignment of contractor rates between Maintenance, Annual Shut, and projects / Capex) Assist with the preparation of cost reports per contractor (daily, weekly, monthly, and close-out reports) Apply PMBok best practices Lead and develop a team Apply Now
