Receptionist – Prestigious Wine Estate and Hotel – Western Cape - Cape Town Region

Our client is seeking a professional and courteous Receptionist to be the welcoming face and first point of contact for their esteemed guests. As the Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in providing outstanding customer service, creating a positive impression, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the hotel’s front desk operations. This position demands a passion for hospitality, attention to detail, and the ability to handle diverse tasks with poise and efficiency. Due to the intimate nature of the property, your role will encompass reception, switchboard and concierge. 1. Warmly greet and welcome guests, ensuring a friendly and professional demeanour at all times. 2. Handle check-ins and check-outs promptly and accurately, maintaining an organized record of guest details and reservations. 3. Provide essential information about the hotel facilities, amenities, and services to guests, as well as activities available on the property and in the surrounding area, ensuring they have a pleasant stay. 4. Efficiently handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints, resolving issues or escalating them to appropriate departments when necessary. 5. Maintain the reservation system, ensuring accuracy and updating it regularly with guest details and preferences. 6. Answer incoming calls, direct them to the appropriate departments, and take messages when needed. 7. Assist in coordinating guests’ transportation, including airport transfers and local transportation arrangements. 8. Handle financial transactions, including processing payments, invoicing, and managing cash transactions in compliance with established procedures. 9. Ensure the lobby and front desk area are tidy, organized, and visually appealing, reflecting the property’s standard of excellence. 10. Collaborate closely with other hotel departments, including housekeeping and concierge, to ensure a seamless guest experience. 11. Handle administrative tasks such as filing, sorting mail, and maintaining office supplies. 12. Uphold confidentiality and data protection principles when dealing with sensitive guest information.
