Kendrick is looking for an epxerienced Reeptionist for a beautiful seaside hotel based in Durban. Responsibilities: Guest Reception: Warmly greet guests upon arrival at the hotel, providing a friendly and professional first impression. Assist guests with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing reservations and payments. Reservation Management: Handle room reservations, inquiries, and cancellations via phone, email, and in-person. Utilize the hotel's reservation system to input and update guest information, preferences, and special requests. Guest Assistance: Provide information to guests about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions. Answer inquiries regarding dining options, transportation, and recreational activities, offering recommendations and assistance as needed. Telephone and Email Communication: Manage incoming calls and emails to the hotel reception desk, responding promptly and courteously to guest inquiries and requests. Transfer calls to appropriate departments or staff members as necessary. Administrative Support: Perform various administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and faxing documents. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and front desk workspace. Payment Processing: Process guest payments for room charges, deposits, and incidentals using cash, credit card, or other payment methods. Reconcile cash drawer and maintain accurate records of transactions. Guest Services Coordination: Coordinate with other hotel departments to fulfill guest needs and preferences, including housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage services. Relay guest requests and feedback to the appropriate staff members for prompt resolution. Safety and Security: Monitor the lobby area and entrance for any suspicious activity or unauthorized persons. Follow hotel security procedures and protocols to ensure the safety and security of guests and employees. Problem Resolution: Handle guest complaints and concerns in a courteous and professional manner, striving to resolve issues to the guest's satisfaction. Escalate unresolved matters to the Duty Manager or appropriate supervisor as needed. Requirements: Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry. Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office and hotel management software. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Professional appearance and demeanour, with a positive attitude and a commitment to exceeding guest expectations.
