Our client in the logistics and transportation industry, a transporter of frozen food products is looking for a Refrigeration Technician to be based in Cape Town. Position: Refrigeration Technician Location: Cape Town, Western Cape Qualification Criteria: Matric/Grade 12. Trade Tested Refrigeration Certificate or Industrial Electronics. A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a technician in commercial refrigeration. Vehicle refrigeration exp would be advantageous Have solid knowledge and direct experience in safe handling of gases, electricity and electrical control systems and knowledge of electronic controllers. Must be computer literate (MS Office). A valid South African driver's license is essential. Must be able to work independently and as a team. Must be willing to work rotational stand-by and overtime when required. Roles and Responsibilities: Servicing industrial/commercial units and providing technical support to clients. Attending to breakdowns. Managing the stock of spare parts for maintenance jobs. Temperature monitoring, fault finding and testing of units. Installation, wiring and commissioning of refrigeration systems. Maintaining good customer service and relations. Providing repair and maintenance feedback to customers and management. Adhere to company policies and procedures as well as health and safety rules and regulations.
