Our client who is a specialist cell captive insurance company, operating in the corporate risk finance, alternative distribution and underwriting management agencies sectors, is seeking a Reporting Accountant to join their team of professionals. The Reporting accountant will report to the Group Head of Finance.Responsibilities:Preparation of the internal monthly financial reports and analysing variancesAssisting in preparation of the monthly and annual shareholder reporting packsPreparation of Annual Financial Statements in terms of IFRSAssisting in preparation of the quarterly and annual Prudential statutory returnsPreparation of the quarterly and annual South African Reserve Bank (SARB) returnsPreparation of the company annual and provisional tax returns Monthly tax computationOverall tax compliance of the licenceAssist with the annual Budget processDaily authorising of payments and cash managementPeer review of reconciliations and transactionsAssist with other finance related ad-hoc requestsRequirements:B Comm accounting degree or similar qualificationCA (SA) qualification would be advantageousInsurance industry experience critical Comprehensive understanding of general ledger and financial accounting functionsIFRS Accounting and reporting experience (preferably within insurance related industry)Knowledge of IFRS17 will be advantageousKnowledge and practical experience of relevant legislationDecision making, problem solving and analytical abilitGathering and handling of informationEffectiveness and efficiency in performing tasksDeadline driven and ability to work under pressureEnergetic and resilientGood communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to prioritise and manage multiple deadlinesAbove average excel skills, attention to details and efficientBenefits:Our client is offering a highly competitive salary for this role based on experience.Contact RPO Recruitment for your next career opportunity.Apply for this role today, contact Keegan Wolhuter, Chelsea Ward or Xavier Magliolo at RPO Recruitment or on LinkedInYou can also visit the RPO Recruitment website: rporecruitment.us or email us your CV: financialcareersrpo-recruit.za.com We will contact you telephonically in 3 days should you be suitable for this vacancy.
