The organisation is looking for a self-motivated, alert and suitably qualified individual to support the Marine and Coastal Impact Programme Manager with the development of educational and capacity development programmes and assets within the NPO to support the sustainable management of waste in Africa. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Key Deliverables include but are not limited to: S/he will also assist in identifying training interventions to equip staff with the knowledge, practical skills and motivation to carry out their work activities effectively. S/he will coordinate closely with other impact portfolios of work and represent the education and capacity development impact portfolio externally as needed. S/he will also manage service providers that will be commissioned to produce educational resources and assets from time to time. Coordinate the conceptualisation and development of training and capacity building programmes and appropriate assets for the organisation, as aligned with the organisational Theory of Change and identified target audiences. Modify programs as and when needed and build training programmes from scratch (from the initial idea through planning, implementation, review and outcomes analysis). Lead and coordinate the process of ensuring the NPO is an accredited training service provider. Work with the Head Marine and Coastal Impact programme to identify training and development needs within the organisation. Promote a work culture of continuing professional development (CPD). Spearhead the design and management of appropriate training and development programmes based on the organisation's theory of change, with the guidance and support of the Head of Marine and Coastal Impact Programmes. Create a range of training programmes, using face-to-face, digital and blended learning options. Design and produce training materials and assets for national and international training courses. Plan and assess the 'return on investment' of any training or development programmes, considering the costs of planned programmes and keeping within budgets. Support the evaluation of training and development programmes and prepare reports for management in areas such as usage, engagement and performance. Keep up to date with developments in training by reading relevant journals, going to meetings, and attending relevant courses. Research new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and present this research. Work with the Head of Marine and Coastal Impact Programmes to manage the finances of the Education and Capacity Building Impact Portfolio, including preparing budgets and financial reporting, managing the training budget and monitoring monthly expenditure reports. Support the Strategic Stakeholder Engagement impact portfolio (specifically Marketing and Communications) with monthly relevant newsworthy stories, social media content and any other communications content as required. Work collaboratively and collegially as an effective team member. Carry out such other duties, as may be required, which fall within the Education and Capacity Building impact portfolio of SST. The Ideal Candidate Is comfortable coordinating multiple projects while working on their own projects. Prioritises effective written and verbal communication in all situations. Displays strong presentation skills and excellent time-management abilities. Is flexible and thrives in a fast-paced, occasionally high-pressure environment. Understands the use and need for different digital platforms to support education and capacity development activities and is adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods. Has the ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives. Has the ability to design and implement effective training and development programmes. Can work closely with a diverse team of individuals in evolving and changing environments. Displays a strong commitment to teamwork and accountability. Is eligible to work in South Africa. Must be a SA Citizen with clean criminal history. Experience and Education Must have at least a master's degree in education, educational planning and management, teacher training/education, reading, early childhood education, curriculum and instruction, and other related fields, and 6 years of experience. At least five (5) years of relevant professional and management experience. Familiar with required office packages. Excellent interpersonal and English-language written skills. Proficiency in an additional African language desirable. Valid driver's license essential. Must be comfortable driving alone. Further Details about the Position Location: O ffice-based in Gqeberha/ Port Elizabeth Duration: Full-time 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential to renew for an additional 3 years. Commencement date: As soon as possible. Salary: Competitive, market related.
