Retail Floor Manager - Stellenbosch

Qualification
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in retail management, preferably in the outdoor industry.
  • Must have firearm competency - working with guns NON-NEGOTIABLE
  • Must be fully bilingual in AFRIKAANS and English
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve sales targets and provide exceptional customer service.
  • A passion for outdoor activities, gear, and equipment, with knowledge of outdoor products and trends.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with customers and team members.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage store operations efficiently.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced retail environment and handle unexpected challenges.
Responsibilities
  • Checking the cash up and banking details daily
  • Assist with customer refunds.
  • Ensure that staff purchases have been actioned according to the staff purchase policy.
  • Complete weekly alarm checks and maintain register.
  • Ensure that security is dressed correctly according to the company set standard.
  • Updating of dashboard and checking Acumatica Cases for outstanding queries.
  • Ensuring housekeeping and merchandising standards are kept up to date, neat and tidy.
  • Stock adjustments for shop use, sponsors etc.
  • Assist with customer queries and/or complaints.
  • Store opening and closing as per schedule.
  • Assist with overrides at till points, refunds if and where needed as well as credit notes.
  • Feedback to store manager weekly.
  • Supervising and planning of cleaning staff.
  • Following up weekly to check on repairs status.
  • Following up on E-learning process and communication to staff weekly.
  • Spot check of floats.
  • Spot check key registers.
  • Weekly check and sign off of Petty Cash.
  • Maintain company policies and procedures.
  • To positively contribute to team working in the shop.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist Store Manager with duties pertaining to customers when he/she is on leave, or out of the store.
  • Send special orders through to supplier.
  • Plan all instore events.
  • Plan and co-ordinate stock takes with Stock Room Supervisor.
  • Plan and co-ordinate safe audits with Safe Manager.
  • Recruitment and discipline management of staff.
  • Must be able to assist in any role in the shop.
  • Follow up on all outstanding sales orders to push sales.
  • Must have exceptional understanding of stock management to assist stock room with problems.
