Retail Marketing Specialist - Durban

Duties & Responsibilities Role

(Note that this is not a full job description but only a list of the main functions)

  • Responsible for conceptualising retail marketing ideas, making evaluative judgements and developing creative concepts for the Company.
  • Tailoring shopper marketing campaigns according to insights from consumers.
  • Overseeing beginning to end multi-channel shopper marketing campaigns.
  • Developing point of sale for use in store Project management of various marketing campaigns.
  • Delivering activation plans that span the entire shopper journey.
  • Tracking and reporting results of various in store marketing campaigns.
  • Responsible for newspaper and radio advertising for retail branches
  • Upholding the companies brand identity all the time.
  • Assist branches with in- store advertising signage, posters, labels, pamphlets
  • Assist Marketing Team with all aspects of the loyalty programme
  • Assist Marketing Team with all promotions and sales at retail divisions
  • Special promotions implementation, display, activation – taking to the next level in store
  • Must be able to physically put together exciting displays.
  • Manage a range of social media platforms and engage in feedback to customers
  • Analyse, prepare and present reports on social media and website efforts and results as well as providing community insights and trend analyses to the team
  • Update of retail website for new and discontinued products
  • In store execution of competitions and promotions, eg. Rewards, supplier competitions.
  • Public Relations & Customer Service
  • Manage customer database and newsletters, Website and Digital in store media
  • Produce the design and production for product graphics, web logos, new social media graphics and banners, static and rich banner ads, email campaigns and email templates
  • Monitoring of website KPIs
  • General marketing record keeping and administration

KEY EXPERIENCE

  • Marketing and Graphic Design related qualification
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in retail marketing preferably with a corporate company
  • Proficient in the use of Google Analytics, AdSense, Facebook Business Manager, Mailchimp and social media management tools
  • Understanding of search engine optimisation
  • Thorough grasp of Google AdWords
  • Must have participated in email marketing campaigns and interpreted and analysed the results of the campaign
  • Have an understanding of website admin and be able interpret key trends using analytical tools
  • Proficiency in design and Photoshop is required
  • Must demonstrate excellent proficiency with words and pay attention to grammar and spelling details
  • Above average MS Office computer skills
  • Experience relating to visualization tools is advantageous
